Xenophon went along with a friend to see a Persian Prince attempt to make himself King of Kings, using an army of Greek mercenaries. The prince died in battle and the officers of the army were killed by Persian treachery. The army elected Xenophon as their new leader then they walked home. This is the story of Xenophon’s journey as he travels through the wilds of Armenia, encounters the poisonous honey of Trebizond, and faces the difficulties of working for the King of Thrace. Xenophon is a standard first text for students of Greek. This volume includes a word-for-word English translation.
