Mor Ignatius Aphram I Barsoum (1887-1957), who served as Patriarch of Antioch from 1933 until his death in 1957, was both a devoted scholar of the Syriac tradition and a beloved leader of the Syrian Orthodox Church. The present volume, edited by Theophilos George Saliba, includes several brief entries by various leaders of the Syrian Orthodox Church written in honor of Mor Aphram I. These entries provide some biographical information, but they primarily serve as memorials dedicated a friend and leader. The volume includes several picutres of Mor Aphram I from different times throughout his life.
