The monastery of Mor Hananyo, also known as the Za'faran Monastery or Dairo d-Kurkmo, is an important monastery of the Syrian Orthodox tradition because it served as the seat of the Syrian Orthodox Patriarch for nearly eight centuries. The present work is a brief history of this important monastery, and it is included in two languages: Syriac and Turkish. Primarily, this history focuses on the leaders who have served as Patriarchs from Mor Hananyo. The volume includes various pictures of former leaders and of the monastery itself.
