In the present volume, Pierre Hobeïca introduces the reader to words and phrases commonly used in conversational Syriac. This work is not a grammar of Syriac, though it does cover the basic elements of Syriac pronunciation. Rather, it simply presents phrases in Arabic and French (in two different parts) and then provides the vocalized Syriac text for the translation of those phrases. In other words, this is a handy "phrase book" that one might use to learn basic phrases in modern conversational Syriac.
