Texts and Studies (ISSN 1935-6927): Third Series edited by David Parker and David Taylor.
Text and Studies is a series of monographs devoted to the study of Biblical and Patristic texts. Maintaining the highest scholarly standards, the series includes critical editions, studies of primary sources, and analyses of textual traditions. The new Third Series, edited by David Parker and David Taylor, continues the tradition of the First Series (1891-1952) and the Second Series (1954-1963).

  • David Parker is Professor New Testament Textual Criticism and Palaeography, and Director of the Centre for the Editing of Texts in Religion, the University of Birmingham, U.K.
  • David Taylor is Lecturer in Syriac at the Oriental Institute, University of Oxford.
Historical Note. Text and Studies began in 1891, under the editorship of J. Armitage Robinson (1859-1933). It was first conceived at a breakfast in Robinson’s rooms in Christ’s College, Cambridge in August, 1890. M. R. James, one of the group, wrote that he and such “various divines as Rendel Harris, Wallis, Harmer, and Parry, met and attempted to concert a plan of a series of Biblical and Patristic Studies, a sort of organ that would appear at irregular intervals and contain texts, articles, and monographs too short for a book and too long for a paper.”
