Gorgias Historic Travels in the Cradle of Civilization (ISSN 1935-3200): A rare joy in a used bookshop is the discovery of some antiquated travelogue showing us the way that people used to view the world. The Gorgias Historic Travels in the Cradle of Civilization series seeks to make that discovery much easier to come by. Focusing on journeys that took travelers to regions of high antiquity, North Africa, Western and West-Central Asia, this series reprints the travelogues of the intrepid and curious. Many of our present-day insights rely on the observations of those who have undertaken such travels. In tribute to their sense of adventure and new learning, Gorgias is proud to offer this series.
