A new method of learning Hebrew, "as one would learn any other language, ancient or modern", as the preface says; by using it in conversation. This innovation of 1834, a curious and valuable piece of linguistic and social history, foreshadows the immersion method, and will still be useful to French students of Hebrew. The reader is plunged imediately into the Hebrew alphabet, and then into sentences; the only French is in the grammatical tables, the preface, and the copious glossary.
