The Book of Crumbs is an anthology of Syriac texts from the Syriac fathers. Each author is first introduced in Syriac, and then excerpts from his writings are given. The texts begin with the Abgar Legend (the Acts of Addai) and end with the writings of the sixteenth century author Abdisho of Jazirah. This anthology differs from others in that it gives excerpts of texts not only from well known authors such as Ephrem, Narsai, Isaac of Nineveh, Jacob of Edessa, and Bar Ebroyo, but also covers many lesser known authors up to the sixteenth century.
