This book is written for both Latino (Hispanic) learners and teachers of English as a second language. The pedagogical technique, “Multisensory Multicognitive Approach,” was developed by the author and is consistent with the latest linguistic and cognitive approaches to language studies. The problems, explanations and examples are based on classroom experience and the techniques used to solve and overcome those problems have proven to be successful and effective. The book is innovative in helping Latino learners and teachers overcome chronic and difficult barriers, such as the cases relevant to certain vowels, consonants and the overall rhythm of English. The methodology and techniques used to teach the two-vowel systems of English and Spanish is rarely encountered in modern linguistic literature. Spanish is placed in an international historical family context, and its socio-cultural contact with other languages, especially English and Arabic, is explored.

Edward Y. Odisho is a professor at Northeastern Illinois University where he teaches bilingual education and linguistics. His scholarly papers have appeared in different international journals and other academic forums. He has also published six books focusing on applied linguistics.
