This is a rare edition of Barhebraeus’ poem “On Divine Wisdom” by Ioannes Notayn Darauni (Yu?anna Nu?ayn al-Dar‘uni) first published in 1880. The Syriac text of the poem is accompanied by detailed footnotes giving Arabic glosses for the difficult words in the text, similar to the glosses often found in the manuscripts of the poem. The text of “On Divine Wisdom” is followed in this edition by a number of poems in Syriac and Arabic in praise of the qa?ida.
