Joseph Berenbach laments that Christian-Arabic sources have often been neglected, even among scholars of Oriental Christian literature. Thus, in order to rectify this, Berenbach published here the Arabic text of an important “anti-heresy” work by Paul er-Rahib, a Melkite Christian. Berenbach collates the text from several sources that he describes in detail. He also briefly discusses the question of the time-period in which the work was composed and its importance for our understanding of heretical issues from a Melkite perspective. Berenbach supplements the text with a critical apparatus and a German translation.
