Although the Coptic language had been in use for centuries, the tenth-century saw an outburst of literary activity in Coptic and particularly in Coptic poetry. In the present articles, combined here into one work, Hermann Junker provides a detailed discussion of the features of this poetry and includes the original Coptic text and German translation for many of these poems.
