This short dissertation presents a text-critical examination of the book of Lamentations. The author first compares the printed Syriac texts of the book, with the addition of some quotations of Lamentations from Aphrahat and Ephrem. Next he offers individual sections on the relationship of the Peshitta to the Targum, the Septuagint, and the Masoretic Hebrew text. The Syriac words are printed in Hebrew characters. This study will be of value to any student or scholar working on the Hebrew text of Lamentations or its early versions.
