Maronite priest and scholar Gabriel Cardahi (1845-1931), who is also known for his Syriac-Arabic dictionary (available from Gorgias Press), here gives the Syriac text of ‘Abdisho‘ bar Brikha’s (d. 1318) Paradise of Eden, a collection of theological poems. The text is fully vocalized and every page is abundantly annotated, especially with lexical elucidations. This reprinting also includes Theodore Nöldeke’s eight-page review (in German) of the book. Students and scholars of Syriac literature, especially of later literature from the Church of the East, will welcome the reappearance of this volume.
