This slim volume is a reference companion to the Greek and Syriac versions of Eusebius of Caesarea's Theophania, the Syriac text of which was published by Samuel Lee in 1842 (reprint available from Gorgias Press), and Gressmann himself later (1904) edited the Greek text (Die griechischen christlichen Schriftsteller 11.2). Included here are two indexes that are indispensable for thorough studies of the techniques of Greek to Syriac translation. First is an index of proper names (personal, topical, and gentilic) cited in both Syriac and Greek. Second comes a Syriac-Greek word index with places from the text cited. Both of these items will be helpful to anyone studying Greek to Syriac translation technique, especially from a lexical point of view.
