Barhebraeus' (1225-1286) long Chronography (or Chronicle) is divided into two parts: a secular history and a church history. The first part was edited by Bedjan and translated into English (with a Syriac manuscript facsimile) by Budge (available from Gorgias Press), and the present work is the edition of the second part, known as the Chronicon Ecclesiasticum, together with a parallel Latin translation and a great number of notes. The first part of the work, comprising the first two volumes, begins with Aaron and moves to the Patriarchs of Antioch, while the second part, volume three, covers the eastern area of the Syriac Church. An index to the whole work is supplied at the end of vol. 3. This edition by Abbeloos and Lamy remains the only one of this very important text, certainly one of the most important sources for the history of eastern Christianity.
