Dom Jean Parisot (1861-1923), well known among Syriac scholars for his edition of Aphrahat's Demonstrations, in this study originally printed in Science Catholique, looks at an interesting work from manuscript 108 of the Sachau collection in Berlin. He describes the work as on celestial and ecclesiastical hierarchies, and indeed the author sees a heavenly "church" with its parallel on earth, both of which have their respective hierarchies: angels of various sorts in heaven, priests of various degrees on earth. Large parts of the work are translated, interspersed with Parisot's explanatory remarks.
