This slim volume brings together two devotional works in Arabic, both originally printed at the Dominican Press in Mosul, the first also under the French title Office de la Passion de n.-S. Jésus-Christ pour les vendredis de Carême. Each of the two works included here deals with meditation on Jesus’ suffering and death. This collection of prayers and meditations will be of interest to Arabic-speaking Christian readers, but also to students and scholars of Christianity in the Middle East looking for aspects of Catholic spirituality in Mosul and the surrounding areas in the nineteenth century.
