A polemic against the Christian claims in the interests of Islam, based on the Gospels and the rest of the Bible - originally printed, sportingly, on the press of the Society for the Propagation of Christian Knowledge. Elijah raised the dead; many prophets healed the sick; so these are not marks of more than prophetic status. Denies Jesus' absolute sinlessness - on the basis of the Temptation and the saying "Why callest thou me good?" (Mark 10:18). On the other hand, Noah and Abraham and Moses were "perfect" and walked with God. Denies that there is anything superhuman about the birth of Christ. Denies that the Koran, or the Gospels, assert the ascension of Christ, his life in Heaven, or his death on the cross.
