Proclus of Constantinople (d. 446 or 447) composed a number of homilies in Greek, some of which in their popularity made their way into Syriac. In this work, first published in the Rendiconti della R. Accademia dei Lincei, Classe di scienze morali, storiche e filologiche, well known Syriac scholar J.-B. Chabot presents an edition of homilies 23-25 in Syriac: On the Incarnation, On the Nativity, and On the martyr St. Clement of Ancyra. He has reproduced the text closely from two Vatican manuscripts from the seventh and eighth centuries, which he describes in the brief introduction. Readers interested in Greek and/or Syriac preaching and theology of the fifth century will find this edition an important resource.
