The linen ornaments of the Anglican Cummunion, copiously considered, with plates and drawings. After a brief consideration of some antiquarian cloths, and veils (the ornaments of the ministers being treated elsewhere), this booklet illustrates the Lenten Array to display the liturgical color in Lent and Eastertide; then the linen of the Lord's table, fair linen (with a rebuke to the Oxford Movement), frontlet, undercloth, and coverlet; the linen for the communion vessels: corporal, pall, purificator, towel, and burse - with a plea for more practical design than the Victorian custom. Finally a note that while cotton is acceptable, but not preferred, to linen, silk and lace are foreign to the Anglican tradition. Table of Contents
