| | Gorgias Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Syriac Heritage by Sebastian Brock The Gorgias Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Syriac Heritage (GEDSH) is the first major encyclopedia-type reference work devoted exclusively to Syriac Christianity, both as a field of scholarly inquiry and as the inheritance of Syriac Christians today. In more than 600 entries it covers the Syriac heritage from its beginnings in the first centuries of the Common Era up to the present day. Special attention is given to authors, literary works, scholars, and locations that are associated with the Classical Syriac tradition. Within this tradition, the diversity of Syriac Christianity is highlighted as well as Syriac Christianity’s broader literary and historical contexts, with major entries devoted to Greek and Arabic authors and more general themes, such as Syriac Christianity’s contacts with Judaism and Islam, and with Armenian, Coptic, Ethiopian, and Georgian Christianities. |
| | The Early Syriac Lectionary by F. Burkitt This piece provides an introduction, translation and commentary to a previously unstudied lectionary text, which provides deeper insight into early liturgical practice and the conception of the canon; and includes an index of the lessons according to books of Scripture. |

| | A Syriac Lexicon by Michael Sokoloff The second edition of Carl Brockelmann's Lexicon Syriacum, published in 1928, is a highly reputable Syriac dictionary. However, its Latin language and the ordering of words according to triliteral Semitic roots make its use difficult for most students and scholars. This revised edition by Sokoloff renders meanings in English, arranges words alphabetically, and includes many useful tools on a CD. |

Printed collections of liturgical materials are invaluable resources both for those who perform and those who study the rites of the Church. The present volume represents a massive collection of songs and hymns for the rite of the Syrian Orthodox Church of Antioch. The songs are arranged for use according to the liturgical year as practiced by the Syrian Orthodox Church. The songs gathered here into a collection for the first time are taken from seven separate manuscripts, ranging from the fifteenth to the twentieth centuries and edited by Julius Yeshu Çiçek. The texts of these songs are presented in a vocalized Serto script. The volume also includes a much needed table of contents for quick reference. Table of Contents
