From the Journal of the American Oriental Society: A full description of the Nestorian Stone in English, demolishing the opinion of Prof. Salisbury of Yale that it was a forgery. In the process it quotes the Jesuit and Chinese testimonia on the existence of the Stone, the existence of the Church of the East in China, and the Imperial Edict requiring copies of Scripture to be sent to the various provinces, and demonstrates that the language and the offices mentioned are consistent with the middle Tang dynasty.
