Mirza Dawid Gewargis Malik (1876-1931) was one of the early prolific writers in Neo-Aramaic (modern Assyrian), but most of his writings remain unpublished. He was educated at the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Assyrian Mission school and later attended the University of St. Petersburg in Russia. This volume contains the texts of two of his books: The Throne of Saliq: The Condition of Assyrianism in the Era of the Incarnation of Our Lord, a collection of poems, one of which is dedicated to Nicolas II, Emperor of Russia, and Notes on the History of Assyria, containing articles on the Patriarchate of the Church of the East with a list of the line of the patriarchs, and notes on the history of Assyrians from ancient times until the early twentieth century.
