Gorgias Press is now accepting manuscript submissions for its Euphrates Imprint. This imprint consists of popular works of fiction and non-fiction. Appealing to the intellectually curious, Euphrates presents creative and thought-provoking writing from contemporary authors.
Our staff are themselves published authors, and understand your needs as an author. They work with you in every step of the way to ensure that your work is published and produced in the best possible form.
Here is a description of our simple but effective submission and publishing process:
I. The Submission ProcessIf you are interested in publishing your work with Gorgias Press, you will find the submission process an easy one. You can submit your material in electronic form (e.g., via e-mail attachment). You need to include:
- A cover letter or e-mail.
- An abstract of the book.
- Table of contents.
- Sample chapters (or all chapters).
- Your CV
Submissions are sent to EuphratesSubmissions@gorgiaspress.com.
II. The Evaluation Process
All submissions go through an evaluation process which ensures quality of content. Once a decision is reached, the author is notified. The entire process may take from a few weeks depending on the nature of the submission and the response of external evaluators.
III. The Production ProcessOnce accepted, the work gets in the pipeline for production. You, the author, are asked to provide the final submission according to the Gorgias Press Submission Guidelines (which is provided). After we receive the final submission, the book goes through copy editing. The copy editor will work closely with you and will provide feedback whenever necessary. Then, the book is typeset and a proof is generated. One of our editors will be in touch to obtain your approval of the proof. An attractive cover is designed and the book is printed. The book will not go to press without your approval. The production process takes a few months and depends on the condition of the submission. The more you adhere to the guidelines, the faster the production becomes.
III. The Marketing Process
We take the marketing of your book very seriously. Within a few weeks of publication, you will start seeing your book listed on various web sites (in addition to ours) such as Amazon.com, BarnesAndNoble.com, Borders.com, and many others. Additionally, the book will become available through large book distribution channels both nationally and internationally. Libraries will be notified.
Gorgias Press looks forward to receiving your submission.
