George Thomas Kurian is president of the Encyclopedia Society and the editor of 60 books, including 27 encyclopedias. Among these are the World Christian Encyclopedia (2 volumes), the Dictionary of Christianity and The Encyclopedia of Christian Civilization (4 volumes). He was born in India and emigrated to the United States in 1968. He and his wife Annie are members of the Syrian Orthodox (Jacobite) Church of India. He is also president of the Christian Heritage Society and secretary of SEARCH, the Canada-based Christian History Research organization, producers of the 12-volume The Christians. Kurian is a distinguished fellow of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences.
